Our brand is a tribute to Walter Clopton Wingfield – the pioneer who first made tennis accessible to the wider public with his portable tennis box. Inspired by his spirit of innovation, we reimagined the Wingfield Box to bring the power of AI to every athlete.
Our Founding Story
As former tennis pros, our Co-Founders experienced firsthand how much technology has changed high-performance sports. After their active careers, they remained dedicated to the sport as coaches and board members of their local club — driven by the desire to bring the tools they knew from the tour to their own members. But existing systems were too expensive, too complex, and not built for typical club environments…
Our Mission
We believe that advanced training tech shouldn’t be exclusive to elite players. Wingfield lowers the barriers to performance by turning regular courts into digital training environments — helping players track progress, compete smarter, and grow their game with real data.
2017 - Foundation
Selected for the first batch of the leAD Sports Accelerator — backed by Adi Dassler’s grandsons.
2018 – First Funding
€1.2M Seed funding and development of first hardware prototypes.
2019 – Go to Market
Market launch with first customers in Germany.
2021 – Going Global
International expansion begins — with new customers like the Rafa Nadal Academy.
2022 – Make it official
AI-powered match validation launched in partnership with the German Tennis Federation (DTB).
2023 – Pickleball launch
Wingfield becomes the official tech partner of the fastest growing Pickleball club franchise in the U.S.
